Black Widow and Spider-Man
Avengers teammates out of Earth-616 — and both created by Stan Lee. Black Widow came to the team from espionage: a former spy and hand-to-hand specialist who first appeared in Tales of Suspense. Spider-Man is Peter Parker, the radioactive-spider-bitten New York hero with a large film and comics series of his own. Avengers membership is on both records.
How they met
On the team. The Avengers is the one organisation both records carry, and it is what puts a spy and a street-level hero in the same line-up. Their lists diverge after that: hers runs to the Thunderbolts, Marvel Knights, the Lady Liberators and the Champions; his runs to family, from his parents Richard and Mary Parker to his wife Mary Jane Watson and his children.
The core tension
Two different schools in one team. Her enemies come from her old trade: Yelena Belova, Iron Maiden, Damon Dran — and the Red Guardian stands on her record as both husband and enemy. His confrontations are always personal and local to the city. One joined the Avengers out of intelligence work, the other off a New York rooftop, and a shared roster does not erase the difference.
